I am an Assistant Instructional Professor and the Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of History at the University of Chicago.

My writing—on human rights, bodily rights, and care, as well as food, culture, motherhood, fashion, and gender—has recently appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Jezebel, History Workshop, the Chicago Tribune, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and Atlas Obscura, as well as in the academic journal Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

I earned my Ph.D. in History at the University of California, Berkeley and previously held two postdoctoral fellowships, at the Pozen Family Center for Human Rights at the University of Chicago and at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
